Permian is 8-2 against Hobbs since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Permian Panthers will challenge the Hobbs Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Permian duked it out withWaco on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 80-51 stomp they got against Waco. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hobbs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They snuck past the Storm with a 58-53 win. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Permian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Hobbs, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Permian was able to grind out a solid win over Hobbs in their previous meeting back in January, winning 73-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Permian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
