Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Southwest SD Raiders

The Canyon Hills Rattlers will venture away from home to challenge the Southwest SD Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Southwest SD took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Canyon Hills, who comes in off a win.

Canyon Hills will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Orange Glen on Thursday. The Rattlers were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Patriots. The Rattlers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Southwest SD was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Tournament Opponent, falling 18-2. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sebestian Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Southwest SD's loss dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Canyon Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-2.

Canyon Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Southwest SD in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Rattlers repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
