Santa Fe is a perfect 10-0 against Wellington-Napoleon since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Santa Fe came up short against Lone Jack and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Mules: they've now lost six in a row.
Santa Fe was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lone Jack work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-14, 25-27, 25-21.
Santa Fe might have lost, but man, Mia Lark was a machine: she had 28 digs and six aces. With that strong performance, Lark is now averaging an impressive 2.2 aces per game. Victoria Morton also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
Meanwhile, Wellington-Napoleon also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Concordia by a score of 3-1.
While Wellington-Napoleon ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19.
Wellington-Napoleon now has a losing record of 7-8-2. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Everything went Santa Fe's way against Wellington-Napoleon in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Santa Fe made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Chiefs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
