Baseball Recap: Shelton Find Success

Shelton won against Centralia last Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Highclimbers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Highclimbers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Carl Turnbow was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Boston Madison, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Shelton's record now sits at 4-6. As for Centralia, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Shelton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
