Soccer Recap: Botkins Takes a Loss

If Botkins was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of St. John's last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Columbus Grove Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Botkins of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Botkins' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Columbus Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Botkins will venture away from home to square off against Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus Grove, they will take on Fort Jennings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
