Volleyball Recap: Barrett Lacouture Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat South Mecklenburg

Myers Park won the last time they faced South Mecklenburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Sabres. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-27, 25-17.

Myers Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Barrett Lacouture, who had eight digs and two aces. Lacouture has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Vivian Wilson, who had 24 assists.

Sophia Woolman and Efronsyni Tripodes certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Woolman had 19 digs and one assist, while Tripodes had 11 digs and two aces.

Myers Park's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for South Mecklenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Coincidentally, Myers Park and South Mecklenburg will both be playing Hough the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Sabres will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
