Basketball Recap: North Brunswick Takes a Loss

North Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the New Hanover Wildcats and fell 61-19. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Adrianna Gomez was North Brunswick's leading scorer, having posted six points. Ayanna Meyers took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

New Hanover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zirhe Sellers, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jazziyah Smith, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

North Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for New Hanover, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

North Brunswick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-43 defeat against Ashley on the 5th. As for New Hanover, they have also already played their next game, a 46-35 loss against Hoggard on the 5th.
