Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Bishop Ludden

Bishop Ludden entered their tilt with McQuaid Jesuit on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They snuck past the McQuaid Jesuit Knights with a 54-48 win. Given the Gaelic Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Knights are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McQuaid Jesuit lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Quinn Wilson, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. Henry Fox was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points.

Bishop Ludden pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Ludden will take on Rome Free Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rome Free Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Bishop Ludden likes a good challenge. As for McQuaid Jesuit, they will challenge Wilson Magnet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
