Volleyball Recap: Hazelwood West Takes a Loss

Hazelwood West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pattonville Pirates. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hazelwood West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-10, 25-23.

Jakob Prater paced Hazelwood West's offense, picking up eight kills. Prater got some help from Armond Dobbins and his 25 assists.

Hazelwood West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18-2. As for Pattonville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13-2.

Hazelwood West has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Clayton on the 12th. Pattonville has also already played their next game (against Ritenour), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
