Baseball Game Preview: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Avella Eagles

For the second straight game, Jeannette will face off against Avella. The Jayhawks will square off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jeannette is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Jeannette after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to Avella, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Jeannette saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amari Thomas, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Thomas is becoming a predictor of the Jayhawks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Evyn Yargeau also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Jeannette's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Avella, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
