Softball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Brighton Bengals

Highland is 1-7 against Brighton since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Highland will venture away from home to face off against Brighton at 3:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Highland came up short against Skyline and fell 8-3.

Meanwhile, Brighton scored first but ultimately less than Farmington in their match on Tuesday. They lost 17-5 to the Phoenix.

Brighton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alison Nikolaus, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Kate Gunn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brighton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Highland might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Brighton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Highland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
