Football Recap: Claude Piles Up the Points Against Valley

Claude hadn't done well against Valley recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs claimed a resounding 54-8 win over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four games by 46 points or more so far this season.

Holden Tice threw for 46 yards and a pair of TDs. Brady Shelton was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Trapper Godfrey rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Claude, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games. As for Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Claude will face off against Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Kiowas have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lorenzo at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
