Freedom hadn't beaten Watauga on the road since February 8, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Freedom Patriots managed an 81-77 victory over the Watauga Pioneers. The win was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.

Freedom was led to victory by Kobe Johnson and Amore Connelly. Johnson went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Connelly dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 58% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was King Johnson, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 14 points.

Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josiah Railey, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Railey a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Keller, who went 9-for-21 on his way to 24 points.

Freedom's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6. As for Watauga, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-54 loss against Northwest Cabarrus on the 25th. As for Watauga, they have also already played their next game, a 56-42 win against East Mecklenburg on the 25th.
