Basketball Recap: Independence's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Independence extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Haymann Milton. The Independence Tigers were the clear victor by a 76-53 margin over the Bogalusa Lumberjacks on Wednesday thanks in part to Milton, who posted 37 points. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Arrick Adams, who had 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Bogalusa, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Independence will square off against Maurepas at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bogalusa, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Frederick A. Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
