Baseball Recap: Carver Crusaders vs. Mystic Valley Regional Eagles
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carver had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mystic Valley Regional Eagles, sneaking past 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for the Crusaders as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Carver has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mystic Valley Regional, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Looking ahead, Carver will face off against Hopedale on Wednesday. The Blue Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Mystic Valley Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
