Basketball Recap: Cedarburg Comes Up Short

Cedarburg extended their losing streak to 16 on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Grafton Black Hawks, falling 70-50. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.

As for Grafton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grafton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melanie Morgan, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Morgan has posted since back in November of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Verplancke, who had nine points and five steals.

Looking ahead, Cedarburg will take on Slinger at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grafton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hartford at 7:00 p.m. The Orioles have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
