Chris Cavalcante put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Saturday. He struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Cavalcante's strong effort led La Salle College over Devon Prep and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Explorers are a perfect 8-0 against the Tide going back to May of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
