Baseball Recap: Central Hardin Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Central Hardin had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 14-19 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the North Hardin Trojans by a score of 7-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory back in April.

Carson Nichols tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kellen Brandenburg, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Caleb Irwin, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for North Hardin, they now have a losing record of 17-18. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

On North Hardin's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Trujillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Carson Thompson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As of now, neither Central Hardin nor North Hardin have any future games scheduled.
