Volleyball Game Preview: Avenal Buccaneers vs. Coalinga Horned Toads + Official Tickets

Avenal is 2-8 against Coalinga since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will head out to take on the Horned Toads at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Avenal sitting on four straight victories and Coalinga on three.

While Avenal's win against Dos Palos wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buccaneers had just enough and edged out the Broncos 3-2.

Avenal wouldn't go down easily and took Dos Palos into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 29-27, 25-13, 18-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Coalinga got the win against Firebaugh on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Coalinga took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-11.

Avenal's record is now 17-12-2. As for Coalinga, their record now sits at 19-11-2.

Avenal might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Coalinga when the teams last played back in September. Can the Buccaneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
