Sauk Rapids-Rice faced Wayzata in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Storm's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Sauk Rapids-Rice started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Josie Anderson paced Sauk Rapids-Rice's offense, picking up 14 kills. Anderson got some help from Aubrey Marketon and her 15 assists. Stella Lambaere controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Sauk Rapids-Rice's defeat dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Wayzata, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
