Softball Recap: Medway Takes Down Cardinal Spellman in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Medway had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinal Spellman Cardinals on Saturday, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since May 31, 2024.

Ally Fagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Alessandra Cautilli was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Priya Bedard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Medway now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Cardinal Spellman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

As of now, neither Medway nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
