Preview: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. Cassopolis Rangers
The South Bend Riley Wildcats and the Cassopolis Rangers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Bend Riley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, South Bend Riley came up short against South Bend Clay and fell 40-31. South Bend Riley has not had much luck with South Bend Clay recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Serinity Pinkney, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and five assists. She also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Serenity Farmer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Cassopolis came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 44-22 margin over Lawrence. Cassopolis has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Cassopolis, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
