Baseball Game Preview: Brenham Cubs vs. College Station Cougars

For the first time this season, Brenham will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will square off against the College Station Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Brenham's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so College Station's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brenham easily dispatched Magnolia on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Brenham fell just short of Magnolia West by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cubs have suffered against the Mustangs since March 29, 2019.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask College Station). They came out on top against Jersey Village by a score of 5-2 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kaden Green tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, College Station saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Cadenewton6@Gmail.Com, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Brenham's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for College Station, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Brenham couldn't quite get it done against College Station in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 11-7. Can Brenham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
