Cannon is a perfect 10-0 against Charlotte Latin since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Cannon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Cannon took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Charlotte Country Day School 19-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Emma Farley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Layla Wagner was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andie Evans, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Cannon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin didn't have quite enough to beat Charlotte Christian on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Ainsley Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Talia Hawa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
Cannon now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Charlotte Latin, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cannon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Charlotte Latin struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cannon skirted past Charlotte Latin 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
