The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tohatchi and Newcomb, and Tohatchi kept the tradition alive. The Cougars put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 17-0 victory on Thursday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Tohatchi's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Newcomb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tohatchi beat Newcomb by a score of 10-0 later that day.
