            Softball Recap: Paulding County Patriots vs. Westminster Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Paulding County easily dispatched McEachern on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Patriots fell just short of the Westminster Wildcats by a score of  4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 18  runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

Paulding County got a good showing from  Ashlyn Whitton, who   pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Whitton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kylee Stancil was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
Paulding County's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 15-12. As for Westminster,  the  victory  got them back to even at 13-13.
 Looking ahead, Paulding County will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Cherokee  at 4:30  p.m. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Westminster does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
