Burrell dropped their record down to 17-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Riverside Panthers, falling 11-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucs of the 4-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2017.
As for Riverside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.
For Riverside's part, Zach Hare made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Hare has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hunter Garvin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was John Bowser, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
As of now, neither Burrell nor Riverside have any future games scheduled.
