Basketball Recap: Midway Drops Season-High Score on Hobbton + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They strolled past the Hobbton Wildcats with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 68-50. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Friday, they had to take a 58-50 loss.

Leading Midway to victory were Tanner Williams and Ace Matthews. Williams dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards, while Matthews dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Matthews now owns an excellent 47.4% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Harrison Johnson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Midway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Hobbton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amir Tate, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 21 points. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Richard Simpson was another key player, going 6-for-12 on his way to 14 points.

Midway's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Hobbton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Midway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-56 win against Union on the 10th. As for Hobbton, they have also already played their next matchup, an 84-51 loss against Western Harnett on the 10th.
