Baseball Recap: Poth Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Poth's offense. They came up short against the Karnes City Badgers on Tuesday, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Poth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Arruda, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The loss snapped Poth's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-6 record. As for Karnes City, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poth will square off against London at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poth 3.4, London 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Karnes City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hondo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Badgers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Owls have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
