Basketball Preview: Harrison Wildcats vs. Ross Rams

Harrison and the Rams are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Harrison Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Ross Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Harrison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.

Harrison posted their closest win since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Talawanda out 53-50. Given Harrison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Brave are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Luke Rogers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Hank Rotert was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.

Meanwhile, Ross' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 74-58 bruising from Milford. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Harrison pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Ross, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Harrison didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Rams in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-58 victory. Does Harrison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
