Zuni was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Northwest on Saturday. Zuni blew past Northwest 17-3. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Kiayana Kallestewa was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kiaura Kallestewa, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Kiayana wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Zuni lost a few balls and finished the game with six home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Zuni's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Northwest, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Zuni Thunderbirds challenge Laguna Acoma Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Northwest, they will take on Thoreau at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
