Volleyball Recap: Jacksboro Starts Season with Victory Against Chico

Jacksboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chico Dragons. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Jacksboro never let Chico on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

Hayden Walker paced Jacksboro's offense, picking up 14 kills. Walker got some help from Brooke Reaves and her 16 assists.

Despite the defeat, Chico saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camryn Sides had nine kills, two aces, and one block.

Looking ahead, Jacksboro will be taking part in a tournament against Electra at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Chico, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m.
