Basketball Recap: Sergeant Bluff-Luton Takes a Loss

Sergeant Bluff-Luton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the Lincoln Lynx. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-47 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Smook, who went 11 of 18 on her way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Smook a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addie Naughton, who posted 16 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sergeant Bluff-Luton will take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sergeant Bluff-Luton is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
