Softball Recap: Menchville Monarchs vs. Woodside Wolverines
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gloucester, Menchville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Woodside Wolverines get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 12 runs or more this season.
Taylor Twitchell (2027) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Twitchell (2027) was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brielle Creque (2027), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Koskinas (2028), who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Menchville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodside struck out 12 times.
