Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monrovia). They put the hurt on the Speedway Sparkplugs with a sharp 27-6 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Sparkplugs: they've now won five in a row.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ryder Bain and Coewen Stinson. Bain rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores while Stinson rushed for 94 yards on only 12 carries. Bain is becoming a predictor of Monrovia's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
