Softball Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss

Deer Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lenoir City Panthers, falling 16-6.

Deer Lakes saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laney Dineff, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Dineff brought in this season. Riley Jones was another, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Even though they lost, Deer Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Deer Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lenoir City, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Deer Lakes will square off against Knoch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lenoir City, they will face off against Midway at 7:35 p.m. on Friday.
