Volleyball Game Preview: St. John Bosco Braves vs. Santa Margarita Eagles

St. John Bosco is 0-9 against Santa Margarita since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Braves will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. John Bosco is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Mira Costa, who was ranked first at the time (St. John Bosco was ranked 17th). The Braves came up short against the Mustangs on Saturday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Santa Margarita lost 3-0 to Mater Dei on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Margarita was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 25-15.

St. John Bosco's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Santa Margarita, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

St. John Bosco suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Santa Margarita in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
