Basketball Recap: Laville Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

LaVille waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Jimtown Jimmies 43-19. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading LaVille to victory were Ava Weil and Brooke Edison. Weil posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Edison put up five points along with seven boards and seven steals. Edison has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 39 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackena Deason, who had nine points.

Jimtown's loss came despite strong showings from Kiera Jackson and Lily Gaugler. Jackson posted 11 points and three steals, while Gaugler earned six points along with seven boards and three steals. Those seven boards gave Gaugler a new career-high.

LaVille is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points per game. As for Jimtown, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaVille will host North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Judson-San Pierre is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Jimtown, they will welcome Concord at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
