Basketball Game Preview: Lower Richland Diamond Hornets vs. Darlington Falcons

The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Darlington Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lower Richland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Saturday, Lower Richland strolled past A.C. Flora with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. Given the Diamond Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Falcons are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lower Richland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chi?Nya Isaac, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Foster, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Darlington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 78-37 loss at the hands of Providence Day. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-13.

Darlington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lower Richland, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.

Lower Richland beat Darlington 51-43 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Darlington's Autumn Joseph, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
