Softball Recap: Serra Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Serra Catholic and Carmichaels squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Serra Catholic had to settle for second. They lost 9-0 to the Mighty Mikes. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Giana Foster was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Serra Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6. As for Carmichaels, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Serra Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carmichaels, they will challenge West Greene at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mighty Mikes 0.8, the Pioneers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
