Recap: Santa Fe Indian Braves vs. Monument Valley Cougars
It was a good run, but the Santa Fe Indian Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 51-39 to Monument Valley. Santa Fe Indian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Monument Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Monument Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shikeeya Hudson, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Nevaeh Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Santa Fe Indian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Monument Valley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Santa Fe Indian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Raton at 8:15 p.m. on January 11, 2024. Monument Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wendover at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Wendover will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
