Baseball Recap: West Delaware Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indianola, West Delaware was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Newton Cardinals. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

West Delaware's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Newton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Delaware will face off against Clear Creek-Amana at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newton, they will take on Dallas Center-Grimes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
