Volleyball Recap: California City Comes Up Short

If California City was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Antelope Valley on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ravens fell just short of the Highland Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Ravens in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, California City sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-13.

California City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Highland, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, California City will take on Golden Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Highland, they will take on West Covina in a tournament on Saturday.
