After each having a week off, the Brookwood Broncos and the Archer Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brookwood's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
Brookwood is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Norcross: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Broncos blew the Blue Devils out of the water with a 43-8 final score. Considering the Broncos have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brookwood can attribute much of their success to Brayden Tyson, who gained 158 total yards and two touchdowns, and Gary Chatman, who rushed for 104 yards and one score on only five carries. Chatman got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards. Another big playmaker for Brookwood was Bryce Green, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 22 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Green, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Archer suffered their biggest loss since October 19, 2024 last Friday. They came up short against Grayson, falling 38-12. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Rams are ranked first).
Defeat or not, Archer got some senior leadership from Jordan Do and Tyree Begne. Do rushed for 114 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, while Begne rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those 127 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Begne.

Archer's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Brookwood, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
