Softball Recap: Forest Hills Tigers vs. Carrabec Cobras
Forest Hills had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-6 to make it seven. They lost 12-2 to the Carrabec Cobras. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cobras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-3 two weeks ago.
As for Carrabec, their win bumped their record up to 10-2. Considering they have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Carrabec's part, Jillian Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Robinson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiyana Tibbetts, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one triple the last five times she's played. Amiya Tibbetts was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
