Basketball Recap: Fort Meade Comes Up Short

Fort Meade played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the McKeel Academy Wildcats, falling 53-27. The loss continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Ava Anderson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for McKeel Academy, going 9 for 21 on her way to 27 points in addition to five steals and three blocks. Anderson's evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Earle, who posted six points along with 16 rebounds and three steals.

Fort Meade's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for McKeel Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-10.

Fort Meade and Four Corners will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for McKeel Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Gibson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
