King Philip Regional took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Franklin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Panthers on Wednesday. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 9-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cam Hasenfus tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Johnny Prater was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

King Philip Regional has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King Philip Regional will head out to square off against Oliver Ames at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Foxborough at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
