Basketball Recap: Shamiah Taylor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Waco over A&M Consolidated

After a string of three wins, Waco's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (54-41), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while the Tigers are ranked 263rd).

Waco's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shamiah Taylor, who posted 16 points. Taylor's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaziyah Degrate, who had ten points.

Waco's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for A&M Consolidated, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Waco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-44 defeat against Shoemaker on the 27th. As for A&M Consolidated, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 35-31 victory against Lufkin on the 26th.
