Preview: Fort Hill Sentinels vs. Mountain Ridge Miners

Fort Hill has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mountain Ridge Miners at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Fort Hill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.

Fort Hill extended their postseason success on Friday against Cambridge-South Dorchester. They enjoyed a cozy 38-20 victory over the Vikings. Fort Hill's victory was all the more impressive since Cambridge-South Dorchester was averaging only 11.85 points allowed on the season.

Jabril Daniels was his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Spencer, who gained 121 total yards.

Fort Hill's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Carter Hess was especially locked on to Cambridge-South Dorchester's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Perryville with a sharp 40-14 win. Mountain Ridge's win was all the more impressive since Perryville was averaging only 11.5 points allowed on the season.

Mountain Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Frost, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Will Patterson was another key contributor, throwing for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Fort Hill has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.57 points. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Fort Hill and Mountain Ridge haven't had much trouble getting there this season.
