Football Recap: Andrew Shelov and James Dellavolpe Secure Win for Warde

Warde's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They strolled past the Westhill Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 28-13.

A big part of Warde's victory came down to the chemistry between James Dellavolpe and his top target Andrew Shelov. Dellavolpe threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while Shelov picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Warde is undefeated when Dellavolpe posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

Warde's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Jamauri Brown was especially locked on to Westhill's QB and sacked him twice.

Warde's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Westhill, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Warde will venture away from home to face off against Norwalk at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westhill, they will welcome Danbury at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hatters will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
